HOME GROWN IN AUSTIN TEXAS

It’s no surprise that great ideas can be discovered in Amsterdam. 

In 2016, two live music crew tour dogs found themselves working a European run for legendary indie artists … And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. Back home in Austin, Texas, each of these production specialists ran their own gear rental companies – Boss Tweed Backline and Capital Radio Backline. While walking over the canals, they envisioned something bigger.

Boss Tweed Backline was a business of inevitability for founder Buddy Hachar. As a working musician and touring production expert, Buddy had managed backline and logistics for artists en route through Texas for years, powering a multitude of concerts, festivals and local shows. In 2014, he and longtime collaborator Alfonso Gonzalez partnered to create Boss Tweed as a production company focused on outfitting heavy rock acts.

Boss Tweed quickly became the largest supplier of Orange Amplifiers in the southwest region, as its two principals also hustled hard as event hosts, pig roast masters, festival forerunners and friendly faces in the family of rock and roll. Hachar later became Tour Manager and Front of House audio for Austin luminaries such as … Trail Of Dead and The Sword.

Meanwhile, just down the street, veteran touring tech and production professional Erick Sanger was busy waving the flag at Capital Radio Backline. 

After traveling the world working for a list of indie rock royalty including Modest Mouse, Weezer and Japandroids, Sanger had launched Capital Radio in 2013. Tapped by Austin booking and event powerhouse Transmission Entertainment, Sanger became the production lead for countless concerts, events and independent music festivals – including serving as backline coordinator for Austin’s infamous Fun Fun Fun Festival. 

In 2018, Boss Tweed Backline and Capital Radio Backline merged forces like a mighty rock ’n roll super robot to form Boss Radio Music Services.. While each of the two founding companies lent pieces of their names to the new brand, everyone involved agrees that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
